Jimmy Webb will share the songs and stories behind his career in Great Performances – Jimmy Webb: American Songwriter, premiering Friday, October 30, 2026, at 9 p.m. Eastern / 8 p.m. Central on PBS. The special will also stream through PBS.org and the PBS app. Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, Ashley Campbell, Shelea and Ryan Shaw join Webb for performances and reflections on his music. Recorded in February, the concert pairs the songwriter’s own stories with interpretations from the guest artists. Country music has gotten a lot of mileage out of the idea that great songs require a little self-destruction. Zach Bryan is questioning what that idea actually did for him. Bryan released Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs on Friday, October 16. The eight-song EP features Lana Del Rey and Turnpike Troubadours, but his accompanying conversation with Matthew McConaughey offers another reason to pay attention: Bryan says he wrote and sang the entire project sober. Tracy Lawrence’s Mission:Possible Turkey Fry returns to the Nashville Fairgrounds on November 24 for its 21st year, with plans to help feed 32,000 people in need. Organizers aim to prepare 2,000 cooked turkeys and distribute another 2,000 frozen turkeys through local partners. The Nashville Rescue Mission, 11 surrounding county school systems, and community organizations will help get the food to people across Middle Tennessee. The announcement also opens the door for volunteers, donors, and sponsors who want to take part. Flatland Cavalry has released the official music video for « Heartstrings, » giving the love song a six-minute visual companion. The video arrived October 14, following the October 2 release of Work of Heart – Heartstrings through Lost Highway. |
