Y’all already know we’re big fans of Sweetwater over here. Their customer service is the kind of southern hospitality that most big retailers can only dream of — knowledgeable, genuine, and downright personal. But this year, Sweetwater is doing a whole lot more than just helping musicians get the right gear. They’re helping kids get access to any gear at all.  The country music community lost one of its most quietly influential figures this week with the passing of Brandon Blackstock at the age of 48, following a private three-year battle with cancer.  Though most headlines will remember him as Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband or Reba McEntire’s former stepson, those closest to the music industry know Brandon as something much more—an artist manager who shaped the careers of some of country’s most visible stars. As a key figure at Starstruck Entertainment, Blackstock helped steer the success of acts like Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Carly Pearce, and others, offering the kind of behind-the-scenes guidance that rarely makes front-page news but often makes careers. Okay, this is not a drill: HARDY is heading back to the dirt roads and duck blinds with a full-blown return to country music, and y’all… he’s doing it in camo.  After dabbling in the rock world (and earning some serious metalhead cred with QUIT!!), the Mississippi-born hitmaker is trading distortion for dobro on his newly announced album COUNTRY! COUNTRY!, set to drop September 26 via Big Loud Records. If you thought all the action on Lower Broadway required a buzz, Ashley McBryde is here to shake up that narrative — sans the hangover.  The GRAMMY-winning songwriter just announced Redemption Bar, a brand-new mocktail-forward bar and music venue opening August 28 inside Eric Church’s six-story mega-honky-tonk, Chief’s. Nestled on the fifth floor, Redemption Bar isn’t just another neon-lit stop on the Broadway bender tour — it’s a space with purpose. |
