Banjo Collector Workshop animé par Hervé Tuel sur la scène de la salle de spectacle. Une histoire de l’évolution du Banjo à travert les instruments présentés. Nous avons appris beaucoup de choses truffées d’anecdotes et là encore, les questions fusent .. bref c’est culturel et ludique …On ne s’ennuie pas.

L’écrivain et journaliste texan Chet Flippo, spécialiste du Rock’n’Roll et surtout de la Country Music, s’est éteint à l’âge de 69 ans.
Né à Fort Worth, Texas, le 21 octobre 1943, Chet Flippo entre à la Sam Houston State University en 1965. Il a 22 ans. Chet s’engage dans la US Navy lors de la guerre du Vietnam qu’il quittera en 1969.
Devenu pigiste, Chet Flippo rédige des articles pour un quotidien local texan, puis décroche son diplôme de journalisme (1974 Austin Texas University). Chet Flippo est promu au rang de Chef du Bureau de New-York, NY (1974-1977) au célèbre magazine Rolling Stone dont le siège social se situe à San Francisco, CA. Seulement trois années plus tard, le siège s’installe à New-York, Chet en est le Senior Editor. Nous sommes alors en 1980.
Chet Flippo très tôt imprégné de country music s’est investit à transmettre sa passion au public pop et rock, lequel classait le genre au rang d’un passé jugé conservateur voire ringard.
Le 6 décembre 1973, un article surWaylon Jennings est signé Chet Flippo ; nous retiendrons cette assertion : « Les jeunes aux cheveux longs aiment aussi la country vous savez… Juste qu’ils ne se sentent pas les bienvenus dans les clubs de rednecks ». Le 13 juillet 1978 Chet Flippo signe ce superbe portrait de Willie Nelson, le décrivant comme l’un des plus grands songwriteurs américains vivants…
Le cinéma Max Linder propose une avant-première d’ALABAMA MONROE (titre original : BROKEN CIRCLE BREAKDOWN), le nouveau film du réalisateur belge Felix Van Groeningen (La Merditude des Choses) . Une histoire d’amour tragique entre un joueur de banjo et une tatoueuse, sur fond de bluegrass. Ce film a remporté un grand succès en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas et il sortira en France le 28.08.2013.
La projection en avant-première aura lieu le lundi 17 juin 2013 à 20:00 et sera suivie du concert du Broken Circle Breakdown Bluegrass Band, le groupe qui joue dans le film et qui en a signé la superbe bande originale. À ne pas manquer!
