C’est la huitième année que MinierAcustica organise à Urbino 15 jours de stage de musique acoustique répartis en une « semaine jaune » et une « semaine bleue », chacune avec un thème différent.
La semaine bleue, du dimanche 24 août au samedi 30 août 2014, propose 4 stages : banjo avec Jean-Marie Redon, dobro avec Henrich Novak, guitare flatpicking avec Russ Barenberg, mandoline avec Mike Compton.

Il n’y pas que l’univers du banjo qui est endeuillé suite à la mort de Pete Seeger, le 27 janvier 2014. Le monde a perdu non seulement un merveilleux musicien qui a marqué et influencé plusieurs générations d’excellents artistes, mais également un grand humaniste, qui s’est battu toute sa vie contre la guerre (Vietnam), la ségrégation (combat pour les droits civiques des Noirs) ou en faveur de la défense de l’environnement. A la fois « protest singer » et « folk singer », Pete Seeger était un artiste engagé, qui faisait fi des pressions politiques, comme à l’époque du maccarthysme, et dont le talent sut si bien mettre en valeur ses idéaux et ses dénonciations (« Where have all the flowers gone ? », « If I Had a Hammer », « What Did You Learn In School? », version politique de « We Shall Overcome »). Il chanta notamment, avec Bruce Springsteen, le chef-d’œuvre de Woodie Guthrie « This Land Is Your Land », lors de la cérémonie d’inauguration de la première élection de Barack Obama (2009).

La ville de Blaye organise une très belle exposition de guitares acoustiques et électriques les 19 et 20 avril 2014. Mais il y aura aussi des banjos, car parmi les quatre luthiers présents sur place, il y aura Bruno Torrès, l’excellent luthier de banjos qu’Action Banjo avait rencontré en 2011.
Samedi soir à partir de 21h, concert avec le trio acoustique : Michel Haumont, Peter Finger et Solorazaf. Dimanche, des scènes ouvertes aux musiciens de 11h à 18h.
Cet événement aura lieu au Couvent des Minimes dans la Citadelle de Blaye.
Entrée et concert gratuits.
