Les 15 et 16 juin 2013, l’association « FAÏ TIRA » organise une rencontre de « MUSIQUE ACOUSTIQUE AUTOUR DU BANJO » dans le petit village de St Gervasy (Gard), entre Nîmes et Avignon.
Tous les joueurs d’instruments de musique acoustique, seuls ou en groupe, toutes les formations bluegrass, jazz… sont les bienvenus pour participer aux nombreuses jam sessions autour du banjo.
Au programme, initiations, stages et master class de musique (banjo bluegrass, banjo classique, banjo rag time, banjo old time, weissenborn, dobro…), concerts gratuits, expositions (instruments de musique, lutherie…), puces musicales, animations diverses.
Après avoir été rééditée pour la 4e fois en français chez Carish-Musicom, la fameuse méthode de banjo écrite par Bill Keith et Jean-Marie Redon, a été traduite en anglais et vient d’être publiée par Mel Bay.
Action Banjo a essayé un tout nouveau modèle de capo : le Perfect Pitch Capo.
Son argument publicitaire s’est avéré véridique : le banjo reste bien accordé lorsque l’on place le capo sur l’instrument. La technique est ingénieuse. Au lieu d’être placé sur le manche et de plaquer les cordes sur la touche, ce qui les tend et altère l’accordage, il se met directement sur les cordes ainsi que le montre le schéma suivant :
Ce capo existe en différents modèles, pour manche plat ou radius, guitare ou banjo. La première fois que nous l’avons mis sur le banjo, nous étions un peu sceptiques, mais il faut bien lire les instructions avant de le placer sur votre instrument.
