ACTION BANJO dépasse son 100e adhérent

Sophie est notre centième adhérent. L’association a profité de sa présence à un concert organisé par ACOUSTIC BAZAR pour lui remettre un petit cadeau.

Depuis 18 ans, l’Association ACOUSTIC BAZAR organise chaque mois sur Paris des scènes ouvertes aux guitaristes et chanteur(euse)s-guitaristes. Outre le set de 30 minutes de «l’invité du mois» – qui peut être une pointure de l’instrument (on a pu y croiser Jean-Félix Lalanne, Solo Razaf, Abaji, Bob Bonastre, Manu Galvin, Michel Haumont, Roland Dyens, Patrick Verbeke ou Jean Marie Ecay…..) mais aussi un jeune guitariste prometteur ou une formation  guitaristiquement intéressante – la soirée se déroule sous la forme d’une scène tournante où chacun a la possibilité de jouer 2 ou 3 titres, tous styles confondus.

Ce soir-là, le banjo était à l’honneur car l’invité du mois était un groupe de bluegrass.

Un Duo Texan en France : THE O’S

On nous signale la tournée de ce duo texan en France. Nous ne le connaissons pas mais il nous a paru utile de communiquer la nouvelle, car ce genre de musique avec banjo est plutôt rare chez nous. Peut-être passeront-ils près de chez vous, cela sera sans doute une découverte intéressante.

« Originaire de Dallas, Texas, USA, John Pedigo et Taylor Young tantôt guitariste, tantôt banjoïste, chanteur tous les deux, donnent clairement dans un style country-folk combinant toutes sortes de musiques de la culture américaine tel que le cajun, le bluegrass, avec un esprit rock psyché. Musiques épurées, mélodies simples et lancinantes, voix éraillées, mélancoliques, les deux antagonistes nous emmènent en ballade sur la route de la Californie, sur les chemins de l’amour et des premiers émois, sur les pentes de la déception et de la tragédie….
Ils ne sont que deux mais surprennent par leur charisme, leurs prestations sont toujours fortes en émotions et ce n’est pas pour rien qu’ils ont été élus dans les 100 groupes indi à découvrir par le festival SXSW et la revue Alternative presse.

ACTION BANJO a son logo

Merci à Joël Mangin qui nous a gracieusement réalisé notre logo. Joël est un graphiste professionnel de talent et un amateur éclairé de musique. Bien qu’il soit très sympathique, sa particularité est qu’il ne joue pas (encore) de banjo. Malgré cela et pour toutes les raisons citées plus haut il a été déclaré membre d’honneur de l’association.
