Oui, bien sûr, elle est en espagnol, mais cela vaut vraiment la peine de signaler cette méthode.Elle a été rédigée par deux spécialistes espagnols du banjo. Lluis Gomez est un banjoïste très actif, qui a réalisé ces derniers temps plusieurs albums (voir notre article COUP DE PROJECTEUR SUR UN BANJOISTE CATALAN). Banjoïste old time, Toni Gimenez anime de nombreux séminaires musicaux et adapte des morceaux traditionnels américains en catalan et en castillan.
Lluis joue du bluegrass et Toni est un spécialiste du frailing. Ils se sont associés pour sortir cette méthode qui enseigne conjointement les deux styles et qui est sans doute la première du genre en Espagne.
Une méthode de banjo par le mandoliniste et guitariste Christian Séguret, cela peut paraître surprenant. Mais même si le banjo n’est pas son instrument principal, Christian sait de quoi il parle et propose une ouvrage bien documenté et attrayant sur le banjo. Ce n’est sans doute pas la méthode ultime pour apprendre le banjo, mais lorsqu’on veut apprendre un instrument, il faut puiser dans différentes sources. L’apprenti-banjoïste y trouvera des informations intéressantes et c’est un objet que tout amateur de banjo aura plaisir à posséder.
Ah oui, on a oublié de préciser que cette méthode associe le banjo 5 cordes et le banjo ténor (4 cordes). C’est une idée originale, car ce sont des instruments radicalement différents.

Si dans vos bonnes résolutions, vous avez décidé de donner un coup de pouce à votre activité banjoïstique, voici une bonne occasion de le faire.
Les inscriptions pour le stage de Virton, qui se déroulera du 11 au 16 avril 2011, sont ouvertes. Virton se trouve en Belgique, non loin des frontières française et luxembourgeoise. Ce stage, qui en est à sa vingt-sixième édition, est réputé comme étant très convivial. Et rassurez-vous, il n’y a pas que des banjoïstes, puisqu’il y a aussi des cours de guitare, violon, mandoline, dobro, harmonica, contrebasse/basse électrique.
Cette année le stage de banjo est réservé aux débutants et aux semi-débutants, et notamment à ceux qui ont commencé à travailler sur la méthode en vidéo de Jean-Marie Redon.
