Action Banjo a eu le grand plaisir de rencontrer un jeune banjoïste de 18 ans, Benjamin LEHEU, au festival de bluegrass de La Roche sur Foron. Comme tous ceux qui ont eu la chance de le renconter, nous avons été enthousiasmés par le son qu’il produit sur son banjo Epiphone d’entrée de gamme. Au vu de la passion qu’il montre, on peut affirmer que la relève est là et qu’il fera partie, s’il continue sur cette voie, des plus grands. Vous pouvez en juger par vous-même en allant sur son site où l’on peut voir de nombreuses vidéos qui illustrent ses débuts prometteurs et l’on peut mesurer après l’avoir vu ce week-end, des progrès qu’il a déjà accomplis depuis ses premières vidéos.
En attendant l’arrivée du banjoïste officiel, le groupe Howlin’ Foxl’a engagé pour ses premières prestations sur le festival.
La 4e réédition de la méthode de Bill Keith & Jean-Marie Redon est maintenant disponible dans toutes les bonnes librairies musicales. Cette nouvelle version est enrichie de plusieurs compositions de Jean-Marie Redon et le CD comporte un exemple audio de la plupart des morceaux, dont le fameux « Dueling banjos », bande originale du film Délivrance, qui reste étonnamment le morceau que tout le monde rêve de jouer.
Ce livre fait partie d’un ensemble pédagogique. Jean-Marie a également produit une méthode en vidéo, disponible sur ce site (cliquez sur le lien), qui se décline ainsi :
