Dimanche 20 novembre 2011 a eu lieu le plus gros événement musical de l »année aux Etats-Unis : les American Music Awards 2011 (AMA 2011). Ainsi Taylor Swift a reçu trois récompenses dont celle de l’artiste de l’année. Nicki Minaj, de son côté, reçoit deux awards.

Quant à Justin Bieber, il n’a rien obtenu … Katy Perry a reçu un American Music Achievement Award pour avoir placé 5 singles d’un même album, au Top des US charts, un award spécifique que seul Michael Jackson et Prince avait obtenu jusque-là. À propos de Country Music Association
Plus de 6,000 professionnels de l’industrie musicale et leurs compagnies à travers le globe sont membres de la célèbre Country Music Association. Formée en 1958 en tant que première association dédiée à un seul genre musical, les objectifs de l’association ont pour but de servir de ressources tant aux professionnels qu’au monde éducatif, dans un soucis de développer l’industrie de la Country Music à travers le monde.
La CMA amène la Country Music au monde, non seulement grâce à ses deux principaux événements que sont le CMA Music Festival et les CMA Awards, mais aussi grâce à un travail sans relâche qui occupe nombre de personnes chaque jour toute l’année pour promouvoir le genre, ses artistes et son bien commun à travers des initiatives et des événements dans le seul but est de promouvoir la Country Music.
La 7ème édition du Acoustic Picnic Festival 2011 régalera à nouveau les amateurs de bonne musique. Et cette année, ils en auront encore plus pour leurs yeux et leurs oreilles, car l’événement s’étendra sur quatre jours et proposera un programme exceptionnel agrémenté de trois têtes d’affiche.
Jeudi 1er septembre 2011 avec SANSEVERINO, un artiste qu’on n’attendait pas forcément sur la scène bluegrass. En apprenant son intérêt pour cette musique, les organisateurs du Picnic Festival l’ont invité à venir tester une nouvelle formule avec banjo, mandoline, guitare, violon et contrebasse. Ça lui a tout de suite plu, et comme il fonctionne à l’instinct, il a décidé de nous présenter son répertoire complètement revisité façon bluegrass. Une vraie création en soit, en tout cas une première donc.
BLUEGRASS 43 a ouvert la soirée pour lui. Et le plus ancien groupe de bluegrass français a vraiment tapé le bœuf avec Sanseverino en fin de concert.
Vendredi 2 septembre 2011. Comme en 2010 un bal folk animé par les Français de SHILLELAGH suivis des Belges de LEVAN, qui proposent également une initiation à la danse en tout début de soirée.
Samedi 3 septembre 2011 : à nouveau et traditionnellement du bluegrass. Les groupes belges THE STRAPS et RAWHIDE ainsi que deux groupes de république tchèque EAST WEST et BLUEGRASS CWRKOT(imprononçable ? Pas sûr, ils arriveront à vous le faire dire…) se succèdent sur la grande scène du magnifique site de Terra Nova.
Ils feront ensuite place aux américains complètement décalés de HAYSEED DIXIE. Issus d’un bled paumé des Appalaches, ils pratiquaient une musique oldtime quand ils sont tombés par hasard sur de vieux vinyles de ACDC. En les écoutant sur leur phonographe bloqué sur 78 tours, ils se sont dit « Well, c’est pas mal comme nouvelle musique country !… » Ils ont appris les morceaux sur leurs instruments traditionnels et c’est ainsi qu’est né le « Rock Grass ». De ACDC à Queen, de Motörhead à Kiss, tout y passe façon bluegrass. Un vrai régal !
Dimanche 4 septembre 2011 : ouverture avec le fameux concert pour jeune public avec LES VACHES AZTEQUES, qui ont mis les petits plats dans les grands pour leur troisième album « Bouze de là ! ». Place ensuite au celtique breton et irlandais avec ALKA TRAD, le duo irlando québécois SOPHIE & FIACHRA, puis HOT SPOONS, rencontre internationale entre les bouillants Irlandais David et Kieran Munnelly, les Belges Kieran Fahy et Philip Masure, et Nic Gareiss, un danseur de american & irish tap dance.
Cette belle édition du Picnic Festival se clôturera par le grand retour de PERRY ROSE. Depuis plus d’un an, il tourne en solo dans des lieux plus intimes et a quelque peu délaissé les grandes scènes. En studio actuellement, il prépare un nouvel album qui sortira fin de l’année. Mais en exclusivité, et uniquement pour le Picnic Festival cet été, il vous présentera ses nouveaux morceaux accompagné d’un tout nouveau band de cinq musiciens. On attend cet événement avec une grande impatience !
Le festival propose comme d’habitude des animations pour petits et grands autour des instruments de musique, des luthiers, des jeux en bois, un château gonflable, la bonne restauration, les bars à Guinness, les bières spéciales, sans oublier la petite scène du traditionnel pub irlandais, ouverte aux jams endiablées et à d’autres concerts.
