Taylor Swift : Artiste de l’Année aux American Music Awards

Dimanche 20 novembre 2011 a eu lieu le plus gros événement musical de l »année aux Etats-Unis : les American Music Awards 2011 (AMA 2011). Ainsi Taylor Swift a reçu trois récompenses dont celle de l’artiste de l’année. Nicki Minaj, de son côté, reçoit deux awards.

Sur le live, David Guetta qui a mis le feu à la soirée en ouvrant la cérémonie avec Nicki Minaj. Quant à Justin Bieber, il n’a rien obtenu …
Katy Perry a reçu un American Music Achievement Award pour avoir placé 5 singles d’un même album, au Top des US charts, un award spécifique que seul Michael Jackson et Prince avait obtenu jusque-là.

Les 10 ans du Festval Al Ras (Barcelone)

Nous étions heureux de venir pour la troisième fois à Barcelone à l’occasion du Festival Old-Time et Bluegrass d’Al Ras. Les retrouvailles se sont passées comme d’habitude au magasin de musique de Richard, Guitarland, et nous avons commencé sur les chapeaux de roue par un bœuf dans le bistrot d’en-face.


C’étaient les dix ans de ce festival, organisé par Lluis Gomez et son équipe. C’était une fois de plus une grande réussite.

Le concert a débuté avec le banjoïste old-time Toni Gimenez (à droite sur la photo), co-auteur d’une méthode de banjo en espagnol avec Lluis Gomez.

Une rencontre internationale entre cinq banjoïstes : Ricky Araiza, Américain installé en Espagne, Lluis, Jean-Marie, Eugene O’Brien, Britannique vivant en Belgique et membre du groupe The Sons of Navaronne, et le Français Fred Simon.

Puis ce fut le tour de Tin Horn Hank, groupe old-time et bluegrass composé d’Écossais vivant à Barcelone.

Suivi de la surprise de la soirée, The Booty Hunters, groupe country-bluegrass avec une forte résonance rockabilly. Avec eux, la température a vite grimpé, si bien que le chanteur banjoïste Xabi s’est retrouvé torse nu, après avoir jeté sa chemise dans le public.

Ensuite, le fameux Barcelona Bluegrass Band rejoint par Fred Simon.

Puis Trae et Jamie Lynn Buckner, des Hillbilly Gypsies

Pour clore la soirée, le bœuf final

C’est l’endroit idéal pour revoir les anciens amis et faire de nouvelles rencontres, comme ici, avec les deux Xavi.

Taylor Swift et Miranda Lambert gagnent les Country Music Awards

Taylor Swift remporte le titre le plus convoité d’Artiste de l’Année de la 45e édition des CMA Awards et ce n’est que mérité, tandis que Miranda Lambert élue Chanteuse de l’Année aux trophées de l’Academy de Country Music en avril 2011, avait remporté à elle seule 4 trophées avec son titre The House That Built Me en tant que Single de l’Année, Chanson de l’Année et Vidéo de l’Année.
