Gilles Apap, violoniste virtuose bien connu des milieux de la musique classique, a décidé de s’entourer de divers musiciens bluegrass, dont Jean-Marie Redon, Sharon Lombardi et Thierry Lecoq, afin de surprendre son auditoire en clôturant ses concerts avec de la musique bluegrass.
Leur collaboration a démarré de façon fulgurante en 2006 puisqu’il s’agissait de jouer au festival Les Violons de la Paix, créé par Yehudi Menuhin, puis de l’accompagner au Théâtre du Châtelet où il se produisait avec l’orchestre philharmonique Pas-de-Loup.

À propos du Banjo Festival Perwez – Wavre
Patrick Ferryn, passionné de musique, réalisateur de quelques documentaires sur la musique old time et folk, nous invite à jeter les bases d’un projet qui lui tient à cœur depuis des années : un festival de banjo en Belgique. Il nous parle de Derroll Adams – le banjoman aux doigts tatoués – et de rencontres en Flandre de musiciens et de mordus de banjo qui se réunissent à Essen au Come Around The Banjo, organisé de main de maître par deux amoureux fous de cet instrument, Arne et Joor Eekman
Nous décidons de rencontrer tout ce petit monde en août dernier, et invitons également Danny Adams (épouse de Derroll), Sophie Devaert (musicienne) et Line Eekman. Et sans hésiter nous mettons en place la collaboration.
En dehors de mettre en place ce projet et de notre amour pour cet instrument, il nous semblait important de mettre en avant la collaboration entre les deux communautés ; quoi de plus essentiel de montrer que la culture, qu’elle soit néerlandophone ou francophone, n’a pas de frontières… Oui, des Flamands et des Wallons, en dehors de tout clivage politique, peuvent encore monter des projets ensemble !

21-year-old Appalachian phenom Colby T. Helms shares his latest single, “Daddy’s Pocket Knife.” The vulnerable track centers around Helms’ journey through grief and reconciliation.
After the passing of his father at age 12, Helms searched everywhere for the pocket knife his father carried every day of his life, but was unable to find it. Years later, in a completely random moment, Helms happened upon it in the bottom of a drawer, right where his late father had intended him to find it, opening a flood of suppressed emotion in the process. Colby has said he lost himself when his father passed, but finding the rusty piece of steel renewed his sense of purpose and set him on the path to a life in music.
Dotze Temps est la troisième œuvre solo de Lluis Gomez. C’est un mélange de morceaux instrumentaux et de chansons, à la fois des compositions originales et des thèmes traditionnels, qui reflètent son expérience de ces trois dernières années.
Le titre, Dotze Temps, fait référence aux douze temps qui prévalent dans les styles flamenco. Ce nouvel album est né de plusieurs influences : il part du Bluegrass, passe par les traditions catalanes et arrive au flamenco.
