Cette année, Jean Marie Redon & Sharon Lombardi animeront un stage de chant en harmonie lors du  Barcelona Bluegrass Camp.

C’est la 3e annĂ©e que l’association AL RAS BLUEGRASS AND OLD TIME MUSIC organise un stage de musique sur un weekend Ă  Barcelone. De nombreux ateliers sont proposĂ©s et tous les niveaux sont acceptĂ©s.

Parution de « A Five-String Banjo Sourcebook », de Gérard DE SMAELE

En 2015, GĂ©rard DE SMAELE a publiĂ© un riche ouvrage en français permettant de comprendre l’histoire du banjo 5 cordes, BANJO ATTITUDES -Le banjo Ă  cinq cordes : son histoire gĂ©nĂ©rale, sa documentation.
Cette annĂ©e, il propose A Five-String Banjo Sourcebook, une Ɠuvre complĂ©mentaire en anglais, qui prĂ©sente avec exhaustivitĂ© les ressources de documentation ayant trait au banjo (livres, enregistrements, films, banjoĂŻstes, luthiers, etc.) Cette compilation est incontournable pour quiconque s’intĂ©resse vraiment Ă  cet instrument fascinant.

Voici l’Ă©logieuse prĂ©sentation d’Art Rosenbaum:
« The American 5-string banjo is many things: a physical object of material culture with roots back to Africa and farther east, and a complex and ongoing development in North America; an equally complex musical culture ranging through vernacular, classical, and popular musical idioms and histories; and connections to social, cultural, and artistic networks. One volume cannot encompass all this, but GĂ©rard De Smaele’s earlier work in French, « Banjo Attitudes », comes close. In the meantime we are lucky to have in hand De Smaele’s exhaustive compendium of history, research. and commentary on the banjo that will inform and nourish inquiry and interest. »
